In our new Santa ornament series we're bringing some of our favorite Santas from Jo Sonja's 50 year treasury of whimsical design. This first series is Folk Art Santa's, and there will be many other designs, both historical and new, added as we go along. Also look for other new series coming soon!
Another wonderful outlet for our creative journey, each ornament is done out of mdf and laser cut with intricate detail. The patterns are etched on the surface for ease of painting. If you prefer to not use the etching, it can be painted over with Gesso or Texture paste and then the pattern can be applied - as you prefer.
There is a jolly good combination of techniques in this painting, all very fun to do! Dab, stipple, dry brush and glaze. First published in the book, Painting for Christmas in 1997. If you have that book already then you have the instruction for painting this design and can just purchase the blank. If you need the instruction for this Santa then there is an option listed below that is available for that as well.
