The bundle includes the class, printed and online packet as well as this large octagon heritage box. The box is large but shallow. It measures 20" long x 11" wide and 4" deep. It is beautifully constructed from solid alder, milled down to 3/8 & 1/2" and mitered corners. All of the components for a beautiful piece that will last for generations..
Originally designed to be a gentlemen's gift box. The absolute perfect painting style to use with a more masculine theme would be Hindeloopen. This is a style still enjoyed by a number of artists in Hindeloopen today. So we’ll take our inspiration from the works of an earlier artist, Gerardus Steven Huttinga, 1883 - 1963. And from his inspiration I’ve developed this simplified, slightly softer look which is wonderfully fun to paint and very decorative. For ease of presentation, let’s divide the painting into about five subjects: scenes, scrolls, birds and flowers, and brush sketching for inside decoration of box.
