Tulip Traditions - JP3446

I dearly love the old folk art traditions. They teach us so much. Color, understanding what and how to stylize the flowers and leaves of our gardens and fields.
Where does this one begin? I'm not sure, but certainly for me it was American Country Tin Painting and Penn Dutch Fraktur Painting combined to formalize the symbolic design presented on this box. The use of the symbolic design presented on this box. The use of the single stylized tulip represents God and the heart. His boundless love and mercy. The small flowers represent the endless succession of generation. The border is symbolic for the Life Line - representing our ups and downs. With a small wish on the inside that is used on many folk art pieces. Enjoy the folk art process and moment!
