In our Fairy Tales and Nursery Rhymes ornament series we're bringing some of our favorite designs from Jo Sonja's treasury of design.  As with our other ornament series, we're going to continue to add both historical and new designs to this series.  Also look for other new series coming soon!  They do paint fast and, oh, such fun!

Another wonderful outlet for our creative journey, each ornament is done out of mdf and laser cut with intricate detail.  The patterns are etched on the surface for ease of painting.  If you prefer to not use the etching, it can be painted over with Gesso or Texture paste and then the pattern can be applied - as you prefer.

The enchanting fairy tale of the Snow Queen by Hans Christian Anderson, gives such inspiration to the imagination.  You can just see her riding through the wintry sky surveying her domain. There is a lot of detail but do not be worried about that because you could simplify the details to please you. The techniques are fun and easy. The
painting should be divided into the smaller easier steps so that you do not get overly tired of any one step. This consideration is very important because it keeps your mental attitude towards your painting fresh and exciting. So look at the design, do you like
it?  Do you want to paint it?  You can, the techniques are fun and rewarding. Please read on....

This design originally appeared in packet JP3267, and before that in Artists' Journal #31 as well.  If you own the packet/magazines already you may just purchase the ornament blank, using the drop down box above.
