Telemark Ale Goose - JP3325

The table is set for a special meal. In the center of the table is a very large wooden bowl filled with ale. Upon the ale float some ladle-like duck or goose shaped cups that are used for scooping out the ale and drinking. Using the bird shape, especially a goose one, for a container or scoops is an ale tradition.

This goose shaped dish is actually an antique Russian one. I searched for this piece for years and finally found one in an antique shop in England. Oh joy! It is decorated with chip carving.

The original is an antique carved goose shallow bowl.  We've had this beautifully reproduced by a decoy carver.  You can select the package to also include this beautiful carved shallow ale bowl.  Please note that the piece is NOT chip carved but is the goose head with the carved shallow bowl as shown.  The ale bowl is 14" long, 7" wide and 2"deep. The package includes the Goose Ale bowl, packet and FREE shipping.
