Setesdal is a small inner valley between Vest Agder & Aust Agder, Southern tip of Norway. Strong influences from medieval and Renaissance decoration persisted into all forms of folkart there, and, a strong preference for dragons, from the prows of ships to roof tops on the old Stave Churches, pews, portals, and chairs were decorated with carved dragons. How fun then, to receive a carved dragon ale cup and hen bowl as special Christmas gifts. Here, they are decorated with Setesdal roses which we hope you'll enjoy!
The hand carved Hen bowl is a large piece that measures 15" long x 5.5" wide x 6 " high.
The dragon ale cup is small (like the bird ale cups). It measures 7.5" long x 3.25" wide x 3.5" tall. It is in scale with the rest of the ale bowl bird and ram series.
