Like the decorative painters of old, I love to paint on black backgrounds, and I was so pleased to hear interior decorators state that every room needs a bit of dark. But, please, don’t let that stop you from this delightful combination of design ideas, because they could be worked out in a number of color ideas.
Again, all of the pieces that have been painted here are found items, but these ideas and patterns could adapt very easily to other surfaces from Shaker boxes to plates.

1” flat or 1” oval glaze - Applying Retarder Medium
1/2” oval glaze - Applying glaze colors
1/2”-1” stippler or mop - Blending out glazing colors.
