A host of musical angels surround the Madonna and child central motif. The technique on the Madonna is a softer religious painting look with just a hint of an icon-like style. The angels are a pure folk art interpretation and the trick is to keep them soft and understated, not too detailed, so that they will not detract from the center. The Christ Child holds a lamb and a heart, as symbols of His life and purpose. I often think of that magical night of His birth and know that He must have heard the music of the angels many times after that! May you too enjoy their wondrous melodies as you enjoy this piece. The bundle includes the custom turned 16" plate and the new enhanced pattern packet that was designed to teach this design in 2020. The design originally appeared in the Artist Journal back in 1996 but now we have done new photography with enhanced color close-ups that have never appeared prior. This is a large 16" custom plate with a flat edge. The plate is turned from basswood by Tim Montzka. This bundle includes the pattern packet and the unfinished 16" custom wood plate for the design shown.
