A simply stroked rose in beautiful bright colors complemented by graphic borders in bold contrasting colors epitomizes the charming appeal of traditional narrow boat painting. It seems that narrow boat painting began when a group of people wanted to decorate their “homes away from home” while traveling along England’s canal system transporting various commodities, including coal. Months spent on the long narrow barges spawned many ingenious ideas until, during the mid-1800s, a very strong style emerged.

The "Campfire Kettle" tin coffeepot is pre-primed and measures around 10" high, and is 12" wide.  The wooden tray is a traditional corner cut style and measures approximately 17” x 11".
