This cut corner tray has been one of Jo Sonja's favorite pieces for decades. Originally made from steel and tin but we have had this tray beautifully reproduced in alder and baltic birch. All of the moldings are solid alder and the floor of the tray is birch ply. The tray is wonderfully lightweight at just 10 ounces and yet is a full 17" long by 11" wide. The exact dimensions of the original tin.

This delightful old English nursery rhyme was the inspiration for this painting. And yes, there are 4 and 20 blackbirds around the edges of the tray. Done in a simple stroke style, they are fun to do. The faces are what I call character faces, so no stress here, because you can experiment with the look you want each one to have.
