The inspiration for this style of painting comes from an old folk art form, Black Forest Clock Painting. Usually painting on a light background, this interesting technique features a transparent use of colors, which often utilizes the light background for the highlights of the objects. When white is used, the strokes usually have a little texture.
Perfect for use a spice or tea box! These are high quality Shaker Style Bentwood Boxes and not cheap, lightweight imports. These shaker boxes are beautifully made of solid birch and we haven't had a nested set in decades. The 7 small nested boxes are 3" in diameter and 1 1/2" tall. The round bentwood is 9 3/4" in diameter and 2 1/4" tall.
