This small reliquary (ossuary) was inspired by a photograph of one in the front of the Hedalen stave church, just below the altar piece painted in 1767 by Hovel Gaarder.  I'm going to use ours for storing some of our precious bibles, from my great grandmothers Norwegian Bible to several small Bibles, prayer books, birth certificates, etc.
